RESTish services using HTTP verbs

Senior Consultant Rebecca Scott blogged about her thoughts on creating RESTish services using HTTP verbs. Think a more casual, relaxed approach to REST that combines some of the efficiencies that can be had by dropping down to more of an RPC style.

  • REST (Representational State Transfer) is an API design style that uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) verbs to create a consistent approach

  • RPC (Remote Procedure Call) is a more imperative approach to API design, where there is more of an emphasis on mapping domain services more or less directly to the API
